  • November 21, 2016 - CPE workshop entitled "Cyber Crime - Actual Trends, Prevention, Detection and Investigation"”, arranged by the Czech Republic Chapter of the ACFE (in Czech language) - 2 CPE credits

    Presented by:

    Lt. Col. Josef Bernátek,

    Counsellor of Economic Crime Section at Police Presidium of the Czech Republic and former Chief Commissioner of Cyber Crime Section at the Presidium

    Workshop contents:

    The workshop will provide an insight into cyber crime topic from an investigator's point of view. The aim is to raise awareness about the issue, meet up with current trends, possibilities of prevention measures, principles and techniques used in its investigation.

  • September 1, 2016 - ACFE CZ Officer and Board Elections Results

    The results of the Board Elections have indicated that the following persons have been elected for the new term from September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2016:

    • President: Pavla Hladká
    • Vice President: Daniel Bican
    • Secretary: Josef Bernátek

    Thanks are due to all members who took part in the election and sent their ballots.

  • August 24 – August 31, 2016 - ACFE CZ Officer and Board Elections 2016 - 2018

    volby The ACFE Czech Republic Chapter will be holding officer elections from August 24 to August 31, 2016 via electronic ballot for which ACFE members will receive instructions to the elections.

    Persons interested these positions will be required to make a two year commitment, commencing September 1, 2016 and ending August 31, 2018.

    Should members have an interest in becoming a candidate, please send an email on info@acfe.cz and state which position you would like to be a candidate for and a paragraph explaining why you have an interest in the position and how you will support the chapter's activities. The closing date for stating your candidacy is August 23, 2016.

  • 9. May 2016 - CPE workshop entitled "Corporate Criminal Liability"”, arranged by the Czech Republic Chapter of the ACFE (in Czech) - 2 CPE credits

    Presented by:

    Tereza Kolafová, MBA, CFE
    Manager of Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services at Ernst & Young

    Tereza Kolafová conducted and led numerous FCPA and UK Bribery Act sales & marketing compliance reviews, including third party audits, and was involved in several investigations for pharmaceutical companies, medical devices producers and biotechnology companies, including cooperation with legal counsels during SEC and DOJ investigations.

    She worked on various projects in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and in the UK.

    She organizes meetings of the Czech Ethics and Compliance Officers Club and is a regular presenter at its events. She also regularly present on compliance and anti-fraud topics.

    Workshop contents:

    The workshop will provide an insight into the Czech Corporate Criminal Liability Act and experience abroad. The aim is to raise awareness of the Act, its requirements and methods of preventing companies from the liability according to the Act. The workshop will introduce:

    • The corporate criminal liability in the Czech Republic – the Czech Act on Corporate Criminal Liability, its applicability and requirements
    • Enforcement of the Act and current development
    • Legislative framework of the Corporate Criminal Liability
      • Requirements of the UK Bribery Act and FCPA and its similarity to the Czech Act
      • Relevant key and recent cases under the enforcement of the UK Bribery Act and the FCPA
    • Measures for preventing criminal liability of corporates
    • Key results of the recent ACFE Report to the Nation and EY Fraud Survey

    The presentation will be followed by a discussion.

  • January 19, 2015 - CPE workshop entitled "Fraud in telecommunication sector", arranged by the Czech Republic Chapter of the ACFE (in Czech) - 2 CPE credits

    Presented by:

    Šimon Mudra
    Fraud Manager at Vodafone Czech Republic a.s.

    Main responsibilities: detection and prevention of fraudulent behavioural of external customers, communication with state bodies and risk assessment of new services and risk assessment of internal and external processes.

    Within the company he participated on development of many systems, for example:

    • Fraud detection system (for traffic fraud)
    • Security incident system (reporting and evidence system of all security incidents within company)
    • Automatic scoring system of customers
    • Specialized system for state bodies

    Šimon Mudra is a member of several working groups in Czech telco associations.

    Workshop contents:

    The workshop will provide an insight into the world of telecommunication and into the fight against frauds and provides information about specifics of this industry and possibilities of defense against various types of fraud.
